Advisor on numerous mixed-use projects including Federal Realty Trust’s Santana Row, arguable the most successful mixed-use project concept in the U.S that has set the new standard for live /work/shop developments in tier 1 infill locations.

Experience acquiring, entitling, and developing over 2.5 million sq. ft. of office, R&D, and industrial projects; and leased and/or sold over 3.5 million square feet of property with a total market value of over $1.4B.

Acquisition roles at Prometheus Development, Opus Development, Insight Development.

Experience entitling five large projects in downtown San Jose including the development and lease-up of 225 W Santa Clara, San Jose’s most successful Class A office building.

Founder and Chairman of Pahl & McCay, a Silicon Valley-based law firm with deep expertise in commercial property transactions and litigation, and financial agency, lending, and regulatory compliance.

Former chair of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Executive Committee.

Board member of several companies including Santa Cruz Bank County Bank.

Since 2001, has served as General Counsel to California Apartment Association.

Over 33 years of project, construction management, structural and mechanical engineering analysis, waterproofing, and sustainable construction. Experience working to develop and remediate construction defects on 1000’s of high rise, corporate apartment, higher education, and government offices.

Founder and CEO of ABBAE a Silicon Valley-based, a nationally recognized architectural engineering firm that provides architectural engineering and project management services to corporate users and commercial developers that include Google, Oracle, the Disney Company, the Irvine Company, and the Howard Hughes Company with construction, project and architectural engineering services.

ABBAE manages $6-8B of commercial projects at any one time.
